On 2 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Chaturont Chaiyakam, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Korkut Güngen, Director General for Asia-Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, on the occasion of assuming his new appointment.

During the meeting, the Ambassador-Designate highlighted key priorities for advancing Thailand–Türkiye relations, particularly enhancing bilateral trade and strengthening cooperation in the defence industry. Both sides also reaffirmed the importance of high-level visits to generate further momentum towards elevating bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership by 2028.
