วันที่ 1 ตุลาคม 2561 - เอกอัครราชทูตพันทิพา เอี่ยมสุทธา เอกะโรหิต ได้เข้าพบหารือกับนาย Erol Ayyildiz ผู้ว่าราชการเมืองอิซเมียร์ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นถึงการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและเมืองอิซเมียร์ในทุก ๆ ด้าน พร้อมนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตพันทิพาฯ ยังได้เชิญผู้ว่าราชการเมืองอิซเมียร์ร่วมกิจกรรม Thai Cultural Roadshow ในเมืองอิซเมียร์ด้วย

On 1 October 2018, Her Excellency Ambassador Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit paid a Courtesy Call on H.E. Mr. Erol Ayyildiz, the Governor of Izmir. The Ambassador and the Governor exchanged views and discussed ways and means to further promote and strengthen the relations between Thailand and Izmir in all areas. The Ambassador also invited H.E. the Governor to attend the Thai Cultural Roadshow in Izmir.
