Procedure of Legalisation at the Royal Thai Embassy, Ankara

 

Documents from Thailand

  1. The documents, translated into English, shall be certified by a translator and, later, legalized at the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.
  2. Afterward, one can bring the legalised documents to the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara for further legalization, or the Embassy of the countries in which one wishes to use the document in Bangkok or that which has the jurisdiction over Thailand.
  3. After legalisation in Item 2, one must bring such document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country you wish to use the document for further legalization. Then, the document can be used accordingly.

Documents from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Georgia, North Macedonia and Turkmenistan

  1. For Turkish language
    1. A Turkish original copy shall be translated into English language by Notary Public. The Embassy also accept the case when a turkish original copy are translated into Thai language by authorized sworn translators.
    2. Both the original copy (in Turkish language) and the translated copy (in English language or in Thai language) shall be legalised by the governorship (Valilik or Kaymakamlik)
    3. Those two documents shall be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye for legalisation. Signature of the authorities shall be put in both documents before submitting them to the Royal Thai Embassy, Ankara.
  1. For other languages
    1. An original copy shall be translated into English language by Notary Public.
    2. Both the original copy (in another language) and the translated copy (in English language) shall be legalised by the governorship (if required by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of each country)
    3. Those two documents shall be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of each country for legalisation. Signature of the authorities shall be put in both documents before submitting them to the Royal Thai Embassy, Ankara.

Duration:     1-3 business days (no prior appointment needed. only in the Embassy's working days and service hours)

The Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara could provide legalization services for residents of Türkiye, Georgia, North Macedonia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan. Currently, documents needed to be legalised can be submitted by post to the address provided below.

Instructions for Document Legalization:
1. Please inform the Embassy the request for legalisation through [email protected] before submitting the documents via post to avoid any unexpected circumstances.

2. Complete the form and send it along with the documents you wish to have certified / legalised. (The documents needs to be legalised in accordance with the procedure stated in https://ankara.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/legalisation). The legalisation fee is 15 USD per signature. (Cash only)

3. Once your documents have been certified, an officer will notify you via email. You will then need to arrange for a courier service to collect your documents.
