On 8 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Chaturont Chaiyakam, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Türkiye, presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

Following the ceremony, President Erdoğan and Ambassador Chaiyakam discussed ways to further strengthen Thailand–Türkiye bilateral relations, particularly the elevation of relations towards a Strategic Partnership, increasing bilateral trade, and enhancing cooperation in the defence industry.

On this occasion, Ambassador Chaiyakam also congratulated Türkiye on becoming ASEAN’s 12th Dialogue Partner, marking another important step towards closer cooperation between Türkiye and ASEAN.
