On 25 October 2014, His Excellency Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador  of Thailand presided over the opening of the Seminar on "Unity based on diversity", co-organized by the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Students Association in Turkey (TSAT) at Büyükşehir belediyesi Gençlik Merkezi, Ankara on 25 - 26 October 2014. The Seminar was attended by over 100 Thai students.

              In his opening speech, Ambassador Charungvat advised students to make the best use of their opportunity of studying in Turkey to widen their horizons, gain their knowledge and experience and bring it to usage once they have completed their studies and returned back to Thailand. Ambassador Charungvat also suggested students on ways to maintain their livelihood whilst studying in Turkey and encouraged students  to actively participate in activities held by the Royal Thai Embassy and the TSAT, which can be helpful in forging student relations and establishing networks between the Embassy and the TSAT.

              The Ambassador also extended his gratitude to the Çankaya Municipality for providing the usage of its student center to host the Seminar.

             Under the theme "Unity based on Diversity", the two day academic discussion provided a platform for Thai students to come together to exchange views, structure bond of friendship, sharing experience between the old and newly arrived students, on living and studying in Turkey. The academic discussion were led by Mr. Ekkarin  Tuansiri, lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science, Prince of Songkhla University, Pattani Campus who is currently studying a Doctorate Degree at Sakarya University, and Ms.Yasemin Satar who is studying a Doctorate Degree at Istanbul University. Students who participated in the seminar were also given the opportunity to visit important sites in Ankara.
