On 24 February 2014, His Excellency Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Turkey, paid a site visit to the headquarters office and factory of ASELSAN, one of Turkey's leading defense industry companies, located on the outskirts of Ankara. The visit was made following an invitation by ASELSAN's executive officers for Ambassador Charungvat to observe on the productivity of ASELSAN.

          Ambassador Charungvat commended ASELSAN for having the capability to produce high - end weapons and military systems and opined that Turkish defense companies can become a viable alternative for  the Thai Armed forces and government agencies in need of weapons and surveillance systems.
