Ambassador of Thailand Designated to the Republic of Azerbaijan Presents Letter of Credence to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On 9 November 2012, H.E. Ambassador Rathakit Manathat, presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Turkey in Baku.
 
During the ceremony and the following meeting, H.E. the President congratulated Ambassador Manathat on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Azerbaijan and expressed his strong will to foster closer cooperation in the fields of politics, economics and energy. Both H.E. the President and the Ambassador shared the view that there is still a vast opportunity for both sides to learn more about each other through cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation.
 
H.E. the Ambassador took the opportunity to inform H.E. the President of the Thai government’s plan to bring Thai art and cultural troupe to perform in Azerbaijan during the first half of 2013. The main objective of this cultural activity is to further increase Thai and Azeri peoples’ awareness of each other’s countries. The Thai side was very pleased to learn that H.E. the President agreed to give strong support to the project.
 
During the visit H.E. the Ambassador also discussed with Mr. Suad Fataliyev, Honorary Consul of Thailand to Azerbaijan, on way and means to strengthen trade ties and to further promote people to people contact.
