H.E. Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkey met with Dr. Ibrahim Korkmaz, Member of Turkish Parliament and Chairman of Turkish-Thai Inter-parliamentarian Group on 22 October 2014 at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Ankara.  This is a part of their on-going interactions in order to help strengthen ties between the two countries.

Many subjects were discussed today including the arrangement of a meeting between the members of of Turkish-Thai Inter-parliamentarian Group and the Ambassador to discuss possible areas of cooperation between the members of both Houses, the possible calls on prominent Turkish House members in particular those directly responsible in foreign affairs, the improvement of the situation in the southern region of Thailand, etc. The Thai Ambassador also personally extended the invitation for Dr. Korkmaz to attend the Thai National Day function which will be organized on 4 December 2014 at the Swiss Hotel in Ankara.

Dr. Korkmaz reiterated the significance that he has attached to foster the ties between Turkey and Thailand.  He offered himself as a link between the Ambassador and prominent personalities in the House, governmental agencies as well as in the prominent political parties of Turkey.  Dr. Korkmaz graciously accepted to take part in the Thai National Day as was invited by the Ambassador.
