On 18 October 2014, H.E. Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Turkey, spouse, diplomats and local staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the ASEAN Family Day 2014 at the Residence of the Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Mrs. Nahari Agustini.

More than 180 ASEAN family members in Ankara from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the lively Event. The Event provided an opportunity for the ASEAN Family to further solidify its unity -- a good reflection of ASEAN’s motto of “ONE ASEAN” towards becoming the ASEAN Community in 2015.

The activities in the ASEAN Family Day included singing the ASEAN anthem, teambuilding games, ASEAN food tasting, and souvenir sales from different ASEAN members. Apart from the contribution of the world’s renowned Thai food, the Royal Thai Embassy set up a Thai booth decorated with hand-painted Thai umbrellas and fans. The vibrant color of Thainess attracted many ASEAN members to use the booth as one of their favourite photo spots in the event.
