Ambassador of Thailand Designate to Turkmenistan presents Letters of Credence to Chief of Parliament of Turkmenistan

On 11 June 2014,  H.E. Ambassador Tharit Charungvat, presented the Letter of Credence from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej appointed him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkmenistan, with residence in Turkey to Mrs. Nurberdiyava Akja Tajiyevna, Chief of the Parliament of Turkmenistan at the Turkmenistan Parliament in Ashgabat.

During the ceremony and the following meeting, Mrs. Tajiyevna congratulated Ambassador Charungvat on his appointment and also presented to Ambassador Charungvat a congratulatory message from H.E.  Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow the President of Turkmenistan. Both Mrs. Tajiyevna and H.E. the Ambassador held fruitful discussions where both shared views regarding issues in the field of education, health and government administration, as well as agreed to explore the establishment of the Thai - Turkmen Parliamentarian Friendship Group, as proposed by the Ambassador, to further strengthen parliamentarian relations between the two sides.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Charungvat gave an interview to Turkmenistan TV, where he reiterated his intention as Ambassador of Thailand to Turkmenistan to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in every aspect.           

During the visit, H.E. Ambassador Charungvat also held discussions with Mr. Berdiniyaz Myatiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, where both sides agreed to further strengthen relations in the field of politics, economics and cultural affairs. Both Deputy Foreign Minister Myatiyev and H.E. Ambassador Charungvat also agreed to work towards  increasing the exchange of high - level visits between both sides, indirecting with the official visit of H.E. the President of Turkmenistan to Thailand, which was postponed since December 2013.
