On 25 December 2013, His Excellency Mr. Tharit Charungvat presented the Letter of Credence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej appointing him as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Turkey to His Excellency Abdullah Gül, President of the Republic of Turkey at Çankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara.

During the ceremony and the following meeting, H.E. the President congratulated Ambassador Charungvat on his appointment, and H.E. the Ambassador conveyed the warmest regards of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the Turkish President and the people  of Turkey. H.E. Ambassador Charungvat  informed the President that  prime objectives of his Ambassadorship to the Republic of Turkey are to further enhance bilateral ties through increases in trade, investment and number of tourists as well as all sorts of visits between both countries.

Both H.E. the President and the Ambassador shared the view that frequent exchange of high level visits are important instruments to help further strengthen the already close amicable bilateral relations between both countries as seen by the Royal visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol to the Republic of Turkey and official visit of H.E. Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand in July and August.
