On 4th February 2020, Her Excellenct Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand accepted the invitation from H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Turkey, to participated in the Forum to discuss Turkey's "Asia Anew" initiative, along with the representatives of the Diplomatic corps. in Ankara.
On this occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador congratulated the Turkish side for the "Asia Anew" initiative, and gave her views on the enhancement if Turkey's role as the Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN, as well as the Chairmanshio of Turkey of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in 2020 - 2021. The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was inaugurated in June 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand, where 18 Asian Foreign Ministers met together for the first time. The ACD is a continent-wide forum, the first of its kind in Asia and currently has 34 member countries.
H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of Foregin Affairs of the Republic of Turkey announced the "Asia Anew" initiative at the 11th Ambassadors' Meeting in August 2019.
