          On 15 September 2011, H.E. Mr. Rathakit Manathat,  Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic Turkey, presided over the opening  ceremony of the Thai Culture and Food Festival which was co-sponsored by the Royal Thai Embassy, Ankara and the Mövenpick Hotel Izmir.  Also present there were the Governor of Izmir and his spouse, leading businesspersons and important persons of Izmir. The event featured Thailand’s exotic cultural heritage, which offered unique experiences of authentic Thai taste and graceful cultural performances to the Turkish public. Guests attending the event had enjoyed Thai classical dances, especially puppet show and Thai folk dance, “Ram Wong,” performed by the dancers of the College of Dramatic Arts and paid great attention to fruit carving demonstration.

          On the following day, 16 September 2011, the Royal Thai Embassy also organized a special cultural event for the Turkish youth who are the member of Kid SenatorProject of Konak Municipality. After being taught how to perform Ram Wong and Kala (coconut shell), the kids and the artists danced together.
